On a piece of paper, write the verse you chose, in both English and
Arabic. If you cannot read Arabic, write down the transliteration of
the Arabic in English so you can experience the original recitation of
the verse.
Every morning when you wake up, make the following prayer before
you recite the verse you have chosen: “Oh Allah, through Your
generosity please open the doors of my heart and help me understand
the wisdom of the Qur’an. Oh Allah, allow me to only receive from
this verse the knowledge that would benefit me and bring me closer to
You.”
Once you make a heartfelt prayer to Allah, read the English
translation of the verse, followed by reciting it 3 times silently and 3
times out loud, in Arabic. Your pronunciation does not have to be
perfect, just do your best.
Take a moment to reconnect with your breath and contemplate the
meaning of the verse.
Spend 3–5 minutes silently repeating the verse in Arabic as you
observe your natural breathing pattern.
Write down any insights that come up.
Repeat this process with the same verse every day for a week.
At the end of the week, read over your daily insights and observe how
your reflections may have deepened or transformed as the week
progressed.
How do you feel about this verse now?
Reflection: “Healing with Divine Sound”

to awaken and inspire the hearts of those who intentionally listen. In order
to make a deep connection with the Qur’an, it can be helpful to follow these
steps:
Begin by taking a few moments of silence while reconnecting with
your breath.
Now take 5 deep breaths, slowly breathing in through your nose and
out through your mouth.
